Cleaning Services Altona
Looking for cleaning services Altona locals can book without chasing a call back? OneDrop FM works across Altona and Seaholme 3018, seven days a week. We are owner operated, so the person who quotes your job is the person accountable for it. We clean homes near the Esplanade, townhouses off Blyth Street, shopfronts along Pier Street, and warehouses out towards Kororoit Creek Road. This page sets out what we do here, what local work actually costs, and what Victorian law says about how clean a rented property has to be. No sales pitch. Just the information you need before you book anyone.

What We Clean in Altona
We cover both homes and businesses in this pocket of Hobsons Bay.
For homes, that means regular weekly or fortnightly cleans, one off deep cleans, and moving cleans. For business, that means offices, shops, cafes, medical rooms, childcare centres, warehouses, and shared areas in townhouse and unit blocks.
We also handle carpet and rug work, windows, and pressure cleaning for driveways and decking.
Everything below explains how each job runs here. If you want to skip ahead, the cost section covers current Melbourne rates, and the legal section covers the standard your property manager can actually hold you to.
House Cleaning Altona
Altona homes are not all the same, and pricing them as though they are leads to bad quotes.
Census data for Altona shows just over three in five occupied homes are separate houses. Almost a third are townhouses, terraces, or semi detached. That is more than double the Victorian rate. It matters because attached homes come with stairs, narrow side access, shared entries, and less room out front.
Stairs change a job. Carrying gear up and down adds time. Glass panels beside a staircase need doing by hand. We factor that in when we quote rather than discovering it on the day.
Altona homes are also smaller than most of Victoria. Two bedroom dwellings make up a much larger share here than they do statewide, and four bedroom homes a much smaller one. A quote built around a big family house does not fit this suburb.
Living close to the water adds one more thing. Fine sand comes in on shoes and settles into carpet and along skirting boards. Salt in the air leaves a film on glass and window frames. Neither is difficult to deal with. Both need doing regularly rather than once a year.
A standard clean covers kitchen surfaces, cooktop, splashback, sink, and appliance fronts. Bathrooms, toilets, showers, and mirrors. Dusting, vacuuming, and mopping through living areas and bedrooms. Skirting boards and light switches. Tell us before the first visit if you have stone benchtops, timber floors, or products you would rather we avoided.

Carpet and Rug Cleaning in Altona
Carpet and rug work in Altona is handled by our dedicated team and covered in full on its own page.
That page explains cleaning methods, how long carpet takes to dry in a coastal suburb, which rug types we clean in your home, and which ones go to a wash plant.
Sand is the main issue here. It works down past the surface fibres and sits in the backing, where a household vacuum will not reach it.
Read the details on our carpet cleaning Altona page and book from there.
End of Lease Cleaning Altona
Moving out of a rental in Altona or Seaholme is its own job with its own standard.
Around three in ten homes here are rented, which is above the Victorian rate, so vacate work is steady in this suburb.
Before you book anything, read the legal section further down this page. It explains the standard Victorian law actually sets and what a rental provider can and cannot require of you. Plenty of renters pay for work they were never obliged to do.

Commercial and Office Cleaning Altona
Business cleaning here splits into two kinds of work.
The first is recurring office cleaning. Small suites and professional rooms around Pier Street and Civic Parade, cleaned before opening or after close. Desks, kitchens, bathrooms, bins, and floors on a set schedule. You get the same routine each visit, in writing, so nothing depends on memory.
The second is everything that is not an office. Cafes and food premises with grease and floor safety to manage. Retail floors with heavy foot traffic and glass frontage. Gyms and studios. Industrial and trade sites near the rail line and out along Kororoit Creek Road.
These need different gear and different timing. A cafe needs cleaning between close and open. A warehouse can often be done in normal hours.
We quote commercial work on site. Floor area, surface types, access, and how often you need us all change the number, and quoting a business over the phone without seeing it is how disputes start.
Window Cleaning Altona
Windows in a bayside suburb need more frequent attention than windows further inland.
Salt carried in on the air settles on glass and dries as a haze. It does not wash off with water alone, and wiping it dry just moves it around. Aluminium frames and tracks collect the same film, along with sand.
We clean inside and out on single storey homes and accessible upper levels, including tracks and sills. For townhouses with fixed glass panels above stair voids, tell us at the quote so we bring the right access equipment.
Shopfront glass along the retail strip is on the same schedule logic. Salt, sand, and hand marks build faster than most owners expect.

Pressure Cleaning Altona
Outdoor surfaces here deal with salt, sand, and damp.
Driveways and paths pick up grime and dark growth where they stay shaded. Timber decking near the water weathers faster. Rendered walls and fence lines collect a film that dulls the colour long before anything is actually damaged.
We pressure clean concrete driveways, paths, paved areas, decking, and exterior walls. Pressure is set to the surface. Timber and render take a much lower setting than concrete, and using one setting for everything is how decking gets furred and render gets stripped.
We check drainage before starting so runoff goes where it should.
Strata and Common Area Cleaning in Altona
Almost a third of occupied homes in Altona are townhouses, terraces, or semi detached dwellings. Many sit in small blocks with shared areas that belong to everyone and therefore to no one in particular.
Shared areas are where standards slip first. Entry paths, letterbox surrounds, internal stairwells, shared laundries, bin stores, and visitor parking bays. None of it is complicated. All of it needs a set schedule and someone accountable.
We work with owners corporations and self managed blocks on recurring common area cleaning. Bin store washouts, stairwell and handrail cleaning, entry glass, cobweb removal, and hard floor care.
Smaller blocks often do not need weekly attention. Fortnightly or monthly keeps most townhouse groups in good shape, and we will say so rather than sell you more than the block needs. We put the schedule in writing so every owner can see what is included and when it happens.

Medical and Allied Health Cleaning Altona
Consulting rooms, dental practices, physio clinics, and allied health suites need cleaning that follows infection control practice, not general office routine.
That means colour separated cloths, correct dwell times on disinfectant, and treating waiting rooms, treatment chairs, and high touch points as separate zones.
We clean outside consulting hours so patient privacy is not affected. Reception desks, treatment surfaces, door handles, taps, floors, and clinical waste handling to your practice protocol.
Practices in Altona are concentrated around the Pier Street and Railway Street area. Tell us your accreditation requirements at the quote so the schedule matches them.
Education and Childcare Cleaning Altona
Childcare centres, kindergartens, and schools need cleaning built around children being in the space.
Toys, mats, low shelving, and bathroom fittings at child height are the areas that matter most. Products need to be safe for use around children, and cleaning needs to happen when rooms are empty.
We handle daily and after hours cleaning for early learning centres and education sites, including bathrooms, play areas, kitchens, and staff rooms. Sand tracked in from outdoor play is a real workload in this suburb and needs proper vacuum work rather than a sweep.
We can align our schedule to your term calendar, including holiday deep cleans when rooms are empty.

Warehouse and Industrial Cleaning
The industrial area along Kororoit Creek Road and towards the rail corridor is a different job again.
Warehouse cleaning means large hard floors, mezzanine offices, amenities blocks, and lunchrooms. Floors need machine work, not mopping. Dust settles high on racking and framework and comes down onto stock if it is left.
We handle scheduled warehouse and light industrial cleaning including floor scrubbing, amenities, lunchrooms, office areas, and high dusting.
Access and safety come first. Tell us about forklift traffic, exclusion zones, and induction requirements before we quote so the schedule fits around your operation.
What Does a Cleaner Cost in Altona?
Published Melbourne rates for 2026 vary widely, so it helps to know what the numbers actually mean.
One dated Melbourne pricing guide verified in August 2026 puts house cleaning between $37 and $84 an hour, with most work averaging around $58, and gives $125 to $250 for a two bedroom home. Another 2026 guide puts vetted and insured cleaners at $52 to $70 an hour, or $140 to $300 as a flat rate, with a fortnightly clean of a three bedroom home averaging $170 to $240.
Those figures are Melbourne wide. Because Altona homes run smaller than the state average, most local work sits toward the lower end of those bands.
Two things are worth knowing before you compare quotes. A two hour minimum booking is standard across the industry and replaces a call out fee. A one hour job is rarely offered by anyone.
Very low hourly rates deserve a question. The Cleaning Services Award 2020 sets minimum pay for cleaners in Victoria, and industry guidance published in 2026 puts the casual weekday base rate at roughly $32 an hour before penalties. Sunday work costs substantially more. A quote well under that leaves nothing for insurance, equipment, or police checks.
Our own pricing is not published on this page yet. We would rather give you a real number for your property than an estimate that changes on the day.

What Is Included in a Standard Clean and What Costs Extra
Most quote disputes come from scope, not from cleaning. Here is where the line sits so nothing is a surprise on the day.
Included in a standard clean
Quoted as extra
Anything in the second list can be added to a booking. Ask at the quote so it is priced up front rather than added later.
What We Need Before the Clean Can Go Ahead
A few practical things make the difference between a job that runs on time and one that does not.
If the property is a townhouse or unit with a shared entry, tell us at the booking. Fob access and internal stairwells change how long setup takes.
How Clean Does a Property Have to Be Under Victorian Law?
This is the part most cleaning companies leave out, and it is the part that saves renters money.
Under section 63 of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997, a renter must leave a rented property reasonably clean. That is the legal standard. It is not perfection.
Consumer Affairs Victoria describes a reasonably clean property as one free from marks, dirt, cobwebs, stains, and dust, where further cleaning would not improve it. Your obligation is measured against the condition report from the start of your tenancy, with fair wear and tear allowed. An older oven that has been properly degreased meets the standard. Carpet with worn traffic lanes meets the standard once it has been cleaned.
The second point matters even more. For rental agreements signed on or after 29 March 2021, a rental provider cannot require professional cleaning unless one of two conditions is met. Either the property was professionally cleaned immediately before your tenancy began and you were told so at the time. Or professional cleaning is needed to return the property to the condition it was in at the start, having regard to the condition report and allowing for fair wear and tear.
If neither applies, a clause in your agreement requiring professional cleaning or professional standard carpet cleaning does not have to be followed. Tenants Victoria states this directly.
We will still clean your property properly if you book us. We would just rather you booked knowing what you owe and what you do not.
From Booking to Final Check
Every job in Altona runs the same way from first call to invoice.
1. Call or message
Tell us the address, property type, bedrooms, bathrooms and whether there are stairs. For business we arrange a site visit instead.
2. Get a quote in writing
The quote lists what is included and what is not. Anything from the extras list is priced before you agree, not added later.
3. Confirm a day and arrival window
You get a real arrival window rather than a vague half day. Weekend bookings are available because we work seven days.
4. Tell us about access
Keys, lockbox codes, fob entry for unit blocks, parking, and whether pets need settling somewhere before we start.
5. We arrive and clean
We bring our own equipment and products. Recurring jobs follow the same agreed list every visit rather than starting fresh.
6. Walkthrough
We walk the job with you if you are home. If you are out, we message you when it is finished.
7. Written invoice
You get a proper tax invoice for your records, which matters if you need to show an agent the work was done.
8. Ongoing schedule
For weekly or fortnightly work we lock in the same slot so you are not rebooking every time.
Suburbs and Postcodes We Cover
This page covers Altona 3018 and Seaholme 3018.
Seaholme is a small locality of just over two thousand people sitting between Altona and Kororoit Creek. It has its own station and its own character, and we treat it as part of our core Altona coverage rather than an outer edge.
Altona North 3025 and Altona Meadows 3028 are different postcodes with different housing and are covered separately. If you are just west of here, see our cleaning services in Laverton.
If your street sits near a boundary and you are unsure, call and we will confirm straight away.
